Privacy and network

Your audio, transcripts and summaries never leave your Mac.

• No account, no analytics, no tracking. No server of ours.
• iCloud only if you turn on Sync with iCloud: then your recordings are in your own iCloud Drive, as your other files are. Bandje never sees them.
• Everything is stored in your recordings folder: ~/Music/Bandje, unless you chose another one. Delete a folder and it's gone. If you choose a folder in iCloud Drive or another cloud service, your recordings go to that service; Bandje warns you first.
• Transcription, speaker recognition and dictation run on your Mac.
• Summaries use only the Apple Intelligence model on your Mac, never Apple's Private Cloud Compute.

The speech engine by Desert Ant Labs checks its license over the network: at most once a month per speech model. It sends a random install ID, the model and engine version and the app ID. Never audio, never text. About Bandje shows this too.
