Listening and reading
Open a recording in the list to listen, read along and search the transcript.
- At the top: the title, the date and time, and the cassette. Tap the cassette to rename the recording and pick the colour of its label.
- Under it: the position bar with any markers, and the buttons to go back and forward 15 seconds. Tap the speed (such as 1×) to play from 0.5× to 2×.
- Tap a sentence in the transcript to listen from there. While it plays, the sentence you hear lights up and the transcript follows.
- When you scroll down in a long transcript, the player folds into one bar. Tap the small cassette to unfold it.
- The magnifying glass searches the transcript. The arrows go to the previous and next match.
- When there is a summary, or you can make one, Transcript and Summary switch between them. See Summaries.
Playback continues when you lock your device, with the cassette as artwork and the controls on the Lock Screen.
More (the ••• button) has Rename, Name speakers, Transcribe again, Summarise again and Delete.
The list
Your recordings are grouped per day, newest first, with the time, the length and the first words of the transcript. A dot marks a recording you haven't opened yet. The search field finds titles, words in transcripts and speaker names. Swipe a recording to the left to delete it, or touch and hold it for Rename, Share and Delete.
Deleting removes the recording's folder with its audio, transcript and summaries. With Sync with iCloud on, that folder is in iCloud Drive, so it is deleted from your other devices too.
