Recording

Tap the red button at the bottom of the list to start recording.

The recording screen opens with the cassette and the time. The first time, Bandje asks for access to the microphone. Allow it, or Bandje can't record.

Bandje keeps recording when you switch to another app or lock your device. While it records, the time runs on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, with buttons to pause and stop.

Bandje records your microphone only. It doesn't record phone calls or the sound of other apps. To transcribe a phone call on your iPhone, record it with the record button in the Phone app, then share the recording from Notes to Bandje. See Importing audio and video.

Let the other people know you are recording. In some countries, and at work, the law requires it, and sometimes you need their consent too. You are responsible for following the law that applies to you. Bandje reminds you once, before your first recording.

Interruptions

When a phone call or another app takes the microphone, Bandje pauses the recording. When the interruption ends, Bandje continues by itself if iOS allows it, or as soon as you're back in Bandje. Otherwise the recording screen says Recording paused by an interruption: tap Resume to continue.

If Bandje or your device stops unexpectedly during a recording, Bandje saves what was recorded the next time it opens.
