Files and storage

Every recording is a folder you can open in the Files app.

You find them in Files › On My iPhone › Bandje (on an iPad: On My iPad › Bandje), or in iCloud Drive › Bandje when you sync with iCloud. Each recording gets its own folder, named after the day and time, such as Recording 6 Nov 14.32, or after the file you imported. In the folder:

• the audio (.m4a)
• the transcript (.md), readable in any text or Markdown app
• the raw data (.json) with the time of every word
• summaries, as <name> summary <template>.md

When you rename a recording, its folder and files get the new name too. The Templates folder holds your summary templates.

The speech models come with Bandje: most of the app's size. Bandje never downloads anything itself. An hour of recording takes about 30 MB.
