Transcripts
Bandje writes down what was said, with who said it, on your device.
Open a recording and tap Transcribe. The switch Recognise speakers under the button decides whether Bandje tells the speakers apart. Without it, you get only the text, and it is ready much sooner.
To transcribe every new recording and import by itself, turn on Transcribe automatically in Settings. It is off until you turn it on.
- The speakers are labelled Speaker 1, Speaker 2 and so on. Give them names with Name speakers.
- Bandje understands 25 languages, including English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Russian and Ukrainian. It recognises the language by itself.
- The progress shows on the recording and as a percentage in the list. Tap Cancel to stop it.
- One transcription runs at a time. Others wait their turn and show Waiting….
- If you leave Bandje, iOS shows the progress and lets the transcription continue in the background. iOS can stop it there; then open the recording and try again with Bandje open.
The very first transcription after you install or update Bandje takes about a minute longer: iOS prepares the speech models for your device once. Bandje says so while it works, and starts this preparation in the background when you first open it.
To redo a transcript, for example with speaker recognition turned on, choose Transcribe again under More (the ••• button). It uses the Recognise speakers setting.
